SpamTrap setup instructions

Mozilla Thunderbird for Windows, Mac or Linux

  1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
  2. Open the Tools menu and then select Account Settings....
  3. In the left hand window of Account Settings, select the account you wish to have filtered by SpamTrap. If you only have one account set up this will be automatically selected.
  4. Click Server Settings under the selected account.
  5. Note: before you proceed, we recommend you write down your email settings as they currently appear in your email program. That way, it will be easy to change back later if you need to.
  6. Go to User Name:, place your cursor at the end of this entry, type in the @ character followed by exactly what appears in your incoming mail server field.
  7. Place your cursor in the Server Name: field, delete everything that is there and type in pop.spamtrap.net.au.
  8. Click the OK button.
  9. Congratulations, SpamTrap is now able to remove spam on your behalf.
