SpamTrap setup instructions
Microsoft Outlook XP/2002, Outlook 10 for Windows
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Open the Tools menu and select Options.
- Click the Mail Setup tab.
- Click the Email Accounts button.
- Make sure the "View or change existing e-mail accounts" radio button is highlighted.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the domain name you want to change under the column called Name.
- Once the address is highlighted, click the Change button.
- Note: if you have the option Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checked on, SpamTrap will not work for you. Uncheck the Log On using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) option before proceeding (this will not harm any previous setup).
- Note: before you proceed, we recommend you write down your email settings as they currently appear in your email program. That way, it will be easy to change back later if you need to.
- Go to User Name:, place your cursor at the end of this entry, type in the @ character followed by exactly what appears in your incoming mail server field.
- Place your cursor in the Incoming mail Server (POP3): field, delete everything that is there and type in pop.spamtrap.net.au.
- Click the Next button at the bottom of the current dialog box.
- Click the Finish button.
- Click the OK button.
- Congratulations. SpamTrap is now able to remove spam on your behalf.
