SpamTrap setup instructions
Microsoft Outlook 2000, Outlook 9, Outlook Express 5 & 6 for Windows
- Open Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express.
- Open the Tools menu and then select Accounts.
- Select the domain name you want to change under the column called Account.
- Once the domain name is highlighted, click the Properties button.
- Click the Servers tab.
- Note: if you have the option ‘Log on using Secure Password Authentication’ checked on, SpamTrap will not work for you. Uncheck this option before proceeding (it will not harm any other previous setup).
- Note: before you proceed, we recommend you write down your email settings as they currently appear in your email program. That way, it will be easy to change back later if you need to.
- Go to Account name:, place your cursor at the end of this entry, type in the @ character followed by exactly what appears in your incoming mail server field.
- Place your cursor in the Incoming mail (POP3): field, delete everything that is there and type in pop.spamtrap.net.au.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Close button.
- Congratulations. SpamTrap is now able to remove spam on your behalf.
